Breaching, Explosive Method of Entry (MoE, EMOE) and forced entry are terms for techniques used for gaining rapid entry in order liberate hostages or other prisoners or to launch a sudden attack against people separated from the operators by a barrier. In hostage situations, less-than-lethal methods are adopted to reduce injuries. Typically the subjects of the intervention will be in one room and the operators in an adjacent room or outside the building. The attempted entry may be through a doorway or window or through an internal or external wall. The method of attack may involve the removal of the door or window from its fixings (the hinges and locks) or the removal or its frame from the wall or, alternatively, cutting a door into free-moving pieces or cutting an aperture in it.

Alford Stick

The Alford Stick is the latest in the Alford range of water/gel-tamped breaching charges. Essentially the big brother of the Alford Strip, this new charge allows much greater loads to be used in order to breach a variety of bigger and tougher targets such as thick laminate (eg. Lexan) glass and internal and external walls.

The charge can be loaded with both multi-strands of detonating cord or bulk explosive and comes with corners pacilitating the fast construction of frame charges.
