Visit by shadow Defence Minister

Following the recent announcement of Alford Technologies winning a second Queen’s Award, we were visited by Dr. Liam Fox, the shadow secretary for defence who wanted to learn more about our work and to find out more about the issues faced by SMEs in the UK’s defence industry. Dr. Fox was joined by the Conservative candidate for the new Chippenham constituency Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Alford Technologies wins second Queen's Award for Innovation

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded a Queen's Award for Innovation for our entire range of liquid disruptors, including the BootBanger and Bottler. This is the second time we have won this award (the first was for the Vulcan in 2004) and it is considered the highest award for innovation in the UK. This award reflects the work we have done to support the efforts of our customers worldwide in combatting terrorist activities and especially IEDs and we would like to thank them for their support and loyalty over the years.

The award is to be presented to the company by the Queen's Lord Lieutenant later in the year and members of the company are normally invited to Buckingham Palace to be presented to the Queen.

Timewatch - Elizabethan Wreck Cannon Reconstruction

A documentary on the Alderney Elizabethan Cannon will be shown on Saturday 21st February on BBC 2 at 20.00 hrs. This is a must see as the programme features firing of a 400 year old replica cannon which was achieved by Alford Technologies.

The firing, recorded by a high speed camera was a great success, giving a huge insight into the way the Elizabethan navy fought. This is the flagship programme of a new series which will reveal the full findings of the Elizabeth's Armada mission.
