Pluton Maritime EOD (PLMEOD™) Kit
The Pluton Maritime EOD (PLMEOD™) Kit is a shaped charge system for underwater and waterline use, packed in a single transit case for maritime and underwater EOD teams. It is built for countermining and low-order deflagration. With the Underwater Capsule fitted, it can be deployed to depths of about 80m, and the charge is non-magnetic. The kit is based on the Pluton shaped charge, and every charge is user-filled. Pluton in action: In a North Sea UXO clearance operation, Pluton achieved low-order disposal of maritime ordnance with minimal acoustic impact, a critical constraint for subsea infrastructure work
Two outcomes from one kit. Cu JFCs are for countermining, and Mg cones enable low-order deflagration, so teams can choose between full detonation and a lower-order result for each target
Rated to about 80m. The Underwater Capsule provides stand-off and takes the charge to about 80m depth
Non-magnetic in the water. With the capsule fitted, the charge is non-magnetic.
Five projectile options. Add liquid disruption, stand-off attack or greater penetration with the optional projectiles below
User-filled. Charges ship empty and are filled in-country, which simplifies transport
Ready to deploy. The stands, legs, loading kit, and pouch come in one transit case

Projectiles
Pluton™ can carry one of five projectile options. Each projectile supports a different EOD or demolition task.
- Copper Jet-Forming Cone (Cu JFC) – for countermining
- Magnesium Jet-Forming Cone (Mg JFC) – for deflagration of thick-cased or buried unexploded ordnance
- Liquid Projectile Set (not supplied with this kit – PL 2014) – for disruption
- Copper Explosively Formed Projectile (EFP) (not supplied with this kit) – for stand-off attack
- Magnesium Jet-Forming High-Performance Projectile (Mg HP JFC) (not supplied with this kit) – for deflagration of thick-cased or buried unexploded ordnance for greater penetration than the standard Magnesium Jet-Forming Cone
